While there is a distinct trend towards prioritising Web Applications over Native Applications, the latter still has an important role to play. While the trend towards Progressive Web Apps narrows the gap between the two types of Application, you will find that your most valued customers will want to install a Native App on their iOS or Android device.
There are certain technical advantages to native apps as they install certain functions far better than web applications. If your service depends on location services, notifications or if media rights are a key concern, you'll have little choice but to build a native app. You'll also find that workflows can be made simpler and more intuitive with a native app and in general it will perform better when the user is offline. We still believe that if you are starting out on your app development journey, the best approach is to focus on your data and getting this right by putting in front of your customers as rapidly and as often as possible. But once you're past this initial step you'll probably need to start work on a native app for your service.
At Linkalist, we've built SDKs for iOS and Android that allow you to rapidly build an app based on the data structures you'll already have after having built a web application. We can build you the app you need using these SDKs or you leverage the power of these SDKs yourself to build the experience your customers need.
